1989 GL Westfalia For Sale in SF Price: $20,000 OBO
1989 Westfalia GL, manual, grey metallic w/ Approx 190,000miles...odometer has been broken since about 160,000 miles. New cluster recently installed...
California and New Mexico van that has no seam or floor rust and is in excellent mechanical condition. Van has a two small dents; one on the rear drivers side from when the original owner backed into something, the other is a small indentation on the rear sliding door. Does not interfere with door function.
Work done while under my stewardship:
Full suspension re-fresh: T3 HD Anit-Roll Bar Kit. Full Powerflex Bushing refresh. GoWesty Spring Kit, Koni Shocks.
Cooling system redone with stainless pipes, stainless reservoir, major hoses replaced, new water pump.
Complete tune-up including new fuel pump and filter, distributor cap, spark plugs, air filter, oil filter and throttle adjustment.
Brand new Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires...less than 5k miles on them.
Passed California Smog July 2018, so you're good for 2 years. New Stainless steel muffler and muffler brackets installed.
Brake shoes checked and adjusted
Auxiliary battery and inverter installed with GoWesty kit.
New Pioneer stereo with bluetooth
Rear Infinity speakers
Front Polk speaker
Just before I purchased and within the last few thousand miles:
new Lobo CV joints
15in GoWesty Wheels with full size spare
GW fridge delete
New 3 window tent, skylight and pop top lift assists installed
The interior of the van is in excellent condition, upholstery is in good shape and all cushions are firm and comfortable. All shades and screens are included and in great condition. Van has AC but it has not been charged or used since I purchased. Previous owner said to his knowledge the system was fine and all that would be needed is a fresh charge...I haven't needed AC in Northern California so it hasn't been a priority. I haven't used the stove, it looks brand new. I also haven't used the sink but the pump functions.
The engine was rebuilt and runs strong with no significant leaks.
Transmission was rebuilt in 2007.
I wouldn't hesitate to take the van on any camping excursion. I recently did a 12 hour round trip to the Northern Redwoods and had no issues ...i'm not afraid of the van's ability to handle trips at all.
Has a Fiama awning, tow hitch, and some or all of the Yakima racks and accessories can be included(load warrior w/ extension, spare tire carrier, rocketbox, etc...)
Overall the van is in great shape and ready for adventure. I am only selling because I'm moving to the East Coast for a job.
