83 Vanagon w/ Bostig and tons of upgrades Price: 15000 obo
Up for sale is my 1983 Vanagon which had undergone countless upgrades and has been the vehicle of both Adventurous and Debaucherous endeavors. I am living in CA now and am no longer able to register it due to the Bostig conversion ( so silly of a rule ).
The Bostig conversion was taken out of a wrecked van ( front end collision ) which was originally installed by Eions automotive near Seattle, WA. I transferred everything over myself. The motor has approx 80K on it. All new plugs, wires, water pump, pulleys, K&N air filter, cat, muffler and power steering pump installed at the time. I have put about 18K on it in two years.
New Radiator, fan and stainless steel coolant pipes installed. Front heater core replaced and blower motor. All valves and controls have been replaced or refurbished and operate perfectly.
The transmission is a fully rebuilt unit from German Transaxle in Bend, OR with the .77 4th gear and has new slave cylinder. Shifts beautifully. Short shift kit installed and shift rod extension installed from T3 technique.
-5 15" Passat Wheels bored out and mounted with General Grabber AT2 tires ( the spare on back is a different color rim )
-0" lift GoWesty Springs with GoWesty HD Bilsteins on all four
-All T3 technique Powerflex bushings have been installed on all suspension aspects. The upper control arms have GoWesty Upper control arm bushings.

-Converted to Power steering with all new PS rack ( have T3 rack mount bushings which are not installed)
Original paint shows some wear but is in great condition. All body seems have been scraped clean and resealed. Minimal rust on a few random places. Lower has rhino liner but could be redone.
-Front and Rear Gowesty HD bumpers with tire carrier swing away as well as Aluminum storage box with tall upright arm swingaway. ( Box is damaged from a hit and run. Still works fine but is not water tight...also caused a dent in the rear hatch )
-Front bumper has GW 2" hitch mount with Hi lift jack carrier, Hil lift jack with GW Hi lift jack point attachment.
-Rough Country Led fog Lights, 42" roof mount LED light bar, 18" LED light bar, and 7" Round HID headlight upgrade with Halo daytime running lights and amber Halo turn signals.

This van has been my pride and joy and has taken me on countless trips to the Southern tip of Baja to the mountains of Utah and beyond. I have taken it apart and put it back together and know every inch of her. She is ready for her next pilot. She is not a speedster...average 60 MPH fully loaded but is the most reliable rig I've had.
I am sure Im forgetting some things so just ask and thanks for looking. I have more pics if you'd like. Remember this van is not CA compliant, all other states are ok. I dont know exact mileage since speedo cable has broken more than once. All the above work has been done within the last 2 years and about 18K miles
Asking $15,000 But willing to discuss and entertain reasonable offers.
