85 Westfalia 2.4 GoWesty motor and trans Price: $20000
I have owned this magnificent van for about a year and a half now. We have taken it up and down the 101 from Oregon to Southern California but it was mostly used for in state camp trips on the weekends. It was always stored in the garage and if something needed to be done to keep it reliable and road worthy it was done. All of the camping gear works great. There is an aux battery with inverter to power small electronics and charge via trickle solar charger.
Prior to me owning it it was a tin top that was converted to a Westfalia by Stephan's auto haus in Sacramento California. The previous owner totalled out his 1990 Westy and used all of the interior and camping gear off of that Van to convert. As far as i can tell it was a flawless conversion and everything was gone through when it was installed. The AC was gutted. It has always been a California Van with 0 rust. I have receipts for the engine, transmission, cv joints and extras all installed within the last 5 years or so. The previous owner estimated that about 10k miles were on the motor and less on the transmission and cv joints.
Here is the stuff i have done to it:
New BFG All Terrain KO/2
Gowesty stainless steel exhaust
Two new batteries
Go westy hook ups
New Kenwood radio
New fuel lines on top of tank and engine.
New speedo cable
Newly painted front end to clean up the 30 years of rock chips
New clutch master cylinder
GoWesty matress pad for top bunk
Carpeted dash cover
I'm sure there is more im missing but overall this is a super solid van. Fires right up and has the power to make it up over the passes no problem. Ready for the next long distance road trip right now!
