Ca. Black-Plate 1964 13-W Walk-Thru Deluxe Bus   Price: $19k
June 1964 Volkswagen 13-window walk-through deluxe bus. This unit was originally sealing wax-red and beige-gray. It was painted amber-brown sometime in the late 1970's. It was painted white from the drip-rail down to the beltline and the roof is still under original beige-gray. The small bondo-spots fill only minor dents left over from the body-prep to paint it brown back when. It is otherwise a straight, rust-free, titled, black-plate, solid Southern California bus (titled in Long Beach) that has been here in Oregon for nearly 40 years in storage.

I finally purchased it four years ago from the stubborn old German gentleman who had it stashed away in a shed on his farm near Veneta, Oregon. He purchased it from some hippies who needed money in late July/early August of '80, soon after the 1980 Oregon Country Fair. A portion of the shed-roof collapsed leaving a dent in the roof of the bus. The dent is easily fixable, as I have not yet attempted to pop it back out. This event is what prompted the owner to finally sell the bus. I have plans to repaint it and put it back on the road, but financial woes as of late are forcing me to consider selling it as it is, unrestored.

It has only surface rust where the previous owner began stripping the paint below the beltline. There is not a rust-hole to be found and no thin spots. Yes, it looks like hell in pictures, but it's a very clean old bus. It is completely solid and quite straight with a little dent-repair needed to the rear corners.

ALL of the parts are included, and are original-German, including OEM date-matched wheels, deluxe trim, deluxe bumpers, front emblem, signals, headlights, tail lights, rear apron, engine door, door-handles, hubcaps etc.. The correct deluxe rear seat and correct front seats are with it, but no middle seat. I never had the middle seat and I'm not holding out. What you see missing in the photos, I do have, and again it's all included with exception to the windscreen-glass and interior panels. It is otherwise complete less the middle seat, and still has its original, but dirty headliner intact. The original engine is in pieces, however, there is a good 1600 dual port currently mounted to the transaxle which was running fine apparently when the bus was put away back in early 1981.

I currently cannot take very good photos since the bus is parked under a port at the side of my barn, surrounded by frozen snow and ice. The weather here has been nasty, and moving the vehicle out of its spot will be a challenge. I can take specific photos upon request if necessary, however, the best alternative is to come see it in person.

The price has been reduced to $19,000 or closest reasonable offer. No trades please, with exception to a partial-trade, not exceeding $9000 in value, for a clean, very low-mileage, one-owner 2014-only Mini Cooper S Clubman with a 6-speed manual transmission. No smokers, no red or brown cars, no salvage titles, no junk. Complete Carfax required.

Will sell to North America including Hawaii, U.K., Europe, Australia and Japan. I will arrange for local pick-up. If necessary, I am able to arrange inexpensive over-the-road transport to the port of Oakland, California and assist in arranging shipping from this port. Transport to port is $500. This transport-service is for an overseas buyer only. Otherwise, a domestic buyer should establish his/her own transport and shipping arrangements. Serious inquiries please. Email me if interested and thank you for looking.
