1969 VW Microbus Dragon Wagon Price: $6000
Selling my 1969 VW Microbus Dragon Wagon.
I had plans to slowly restore it and a few other vehicles, but life has led me away from old car restoration. I purchased the bus a year and a half ago. But I'm moving now, and the bus needs to go!
The dragon murals were hand painted by an artist in Asheville, NC. You won't see another one of these online. (I was actually going to probably have the bus vinyl wrapped in order to preserve the dragon murals, but obviously do whatever you want with it.)
The body is in decent shape. Only a few small dents and a few of your standard rusted floor pans.
The front has had some bondo work.
The engine and tranny have both been rebuilt within recent years. They're in decent shape. If I get a chance before it's purchased, I may try to give the engine a tune up.
The previous owner fooled around with the wiring too much by adding a number of lights to the inside and rear of the vehicle. It's a bit of a mess.
The bus is driveable, and it was driving when I parked it after I bought it. The brakes are shot, so I left it alone while working on other vehicles. With little effort, you could get it running again in short order. I may have it running again before someone shows up to purchase it.
That isn't rust on the interior roof. That's the old insulation I haven't bothered to scrape off. The bus was originally red.
I purchased the bus from a man in Asheville, NC. He sold it with the help of the Asheville VeeDub Service and Repair shop that only works on repairing and restoring VW vehicles. They told me the listed price is reasonable for its condition.
Feel free to ask me any questions. I need this bus to go, so I'm willing to consider most offers. (I'm not looking for any trades though. But I would consider trading for a running 60s VW Bug.)
Please text me first and give me time to respond. I'll be happy to call you back and discuss the bus in detail with you. I will also provide more pictures upon request. I'm a pretty easy going guy, and I look forward to speaking with you.
