1956 Canadian Custom Standard Oval Project   Price: 7500
This car has been local to this area since the 60's. It was stripped and parked in a shed for over 30 years. It surfaced a few years ago and changed hands a few times. I ended up with it after having a chat with a local hot rod guy who was going to chop the top and modify it. I almost passed out when I saw the tape and marker lines around the B and C posts. I couldn't let this happen. The reason you ask? Well this body was the most rust free/accident free oval I had ever seen...well in eastern Canada anyway. And the best part....this oval is a Canadian Custom Standard. Which means it has all of the standard options except it had chromed bumpers, chrome body trim and hydraulic brakes. Very few of these have survived. The serial number makes it a April/56 build. I have the papers and they are in my name. The body and pan match. There is no motor. The trans is a later tunnel type swing axle. The front beam is stock. I added the BRM wheels to make it a roller and will go with the car if full price is paid. Deduct $500 if you don't want them. The car comes with Duro Glass. Rear, quarter and side windows included with a couple of spares. No windshield. When I bought it the car it didn't have any fenders. I did manage to find a set of rears that will require some repairs as well as a set of original bullet oval front fenders that are in awesome shape. But someone filled in the bullet holes and used them on a cabrio restoration. I have the bullet inserts which just need to be welded into the original holes to make them correct again. The doors, hood and decklid are incredible. No rust or damage. The hood doesn't even have the "kink" that almost all prop hoods have. As you can see from the pictures of the parts, I have accumulated some parts over the years. There will be some missing items like headlights, bumpers and brackets as well as switches. Original floor pans are very solid and will require very little work to make them perfect. You can still see the round mounting pins for the rubber floor mats. The rear bumper brackets mounts were fixed using bronze and a later style bracket. I bought a pair of the good repair panels from Finland to repair this. I also managed to score a set of standard model seats that are attached using wingnuts.

Price is in US funds. I would love to see this car stay in Canada so preferential treatment will be given to fellow Canucks....lol

Contact me if you wish to discuss further. I can also take pictures of specific areas. But rest assured, there is very little to do as far as body work on this car. It was sanded down to show how solid it is.
