1986 Weekender Subaru   Price: 25000
I'm selling a 95% restored 1986 Vanagon Weekender Wolfsburg.

I'm in san diego to show the van and the price is firm! Given the pretty new subaru engine and other goodies it seems I'm pricing this at a very favorable level for a buyer, I'd like to get it sold and go back home to hawaii asap.

It has a custom interior...
The panels are custom painted, there's a bamboo hardwood floor, led lighting, custom upholstery including curtains and throw pillows, and both front seats swivel. Also inside are an auxiliary battery, inverter, and 43 quart refrigerator that are powered by the 100 watt rooftop solar panel or the alternator. Additionally I just installed a NEW Espar B1LC auxillary heater under the bench seat and the original rear heater was removed from under the bench seat. Finally the photos show a rocketbox pro 12 mounted on the roof rack but that has now been replaced with a much sleeker and generally better looking Packasport 115 fiberglass roof box ($1200 fiberglass cargo box).

the van is great and has a fully rebuilt/new 2.2l (bored to 2.3) Subaru engine installed by California Westys for over $15k that now has just 14000 miles on it). Also included in the engine upgrade were stainless cooling lines, a new radiator, new starter, new exhaust, and new alternator. This setup is California compliant so you may register the van here, it's currently registered in florida because it's much cheaper there. Additionally, the van has gowesty wheels, decent michelin defender tires, bilstein shocks, new brake pads, front rotors, wheel bearings, and just generally doesn't cause any stress/issues, I find if you put care into these great vans they love you back and are reliable and fun.

There is a modest dent in the rear driver quarter panel, I made a very slow speed oopsie into a pole. There is a dent in the front drivers side corner from a deer, it is largely masked by the bra and I was quoted 1500 to fix it with new metal welded in. The rear drum brakes also need to be rebuilt sooner than later. Needs a new grounding tree (maybe $5) to make the headlights happier. Shifting is easy but lacks the stopper/guide tabs (very common issue), you get the feel of it after a day...this is easier to explain on the phone and would be a cheap fix. If I didn't just list it it's in good shape.

It's a great van and I'm trying to adjust the price for the little bit of work it needs which does present a good buying opportunity for someone who wants a reliable westy but doesn't mind if it's showroom perfect as it has the two dents(I have 44k into it). The van is stored inside in San Diego and I live in Hawaii (hence why I'm not just doing all the simple fixes) so please be a serious buyer. I'd like to sell this beauty since I don't live nearby to use it enough and the storage fees are silly.
