1987 VW Vanagon Westfalia (EJ 2.5)   Price: 30,000
1987 Auto-Trans Westfalia. It has a 2001 Subaru Imprezza 2.5L engine. The body is straight and is in immaculate shape with the original Dove Metallic blue paint & pin stripes. Mountain Bus Werks did the subi-conversion, replaced the engine with all new gaskets, belts and tensioner. Steve Sunkel did a fantastic conversion job and Tom Shiels did the harness. Too many items to list, below are some. Inquire if you need more info or pictures.
List of Items
-15 Mercedes Rims with Michelin tires (with T3 center caps/correct tire rating)
-Bilstein front and back shock absorbers
-Rocky Mountain HD rear bumper & Trailer hitch with 2 receiver
-Front Bumper from Bostig - NFC bumper
-Replaced front lights with LED bulbs
-LED 3rd rear break light
-Installed center flip down/up cup holder & recently DIY rear cup holders
-Installed radiator fan over-ride (able to turn radiator fan on/off)
-Installed manual radio over-ride (so can turn on radio w/o key in ignition)
-NEW ARB-like awning 8ft wide awning w/Rocky Mounting bracket
-NEW Pop up GoWesty tent with 3 windows
-Stainless steel headers
-Stainless steel coolant pipes
-Stainless steel flexible brake lines (front & rear) - 30 Apr 2019
-New Master Brake Cylinder with new sensors - 30 Apr 2019
-T3 purple polyurethane bushings replaced (Rebuild front end) and alignment
-T3 Heavy Duty sway bar & Heavy Duty endlink
-new AC compressor/receiver dryer and converted to R34a ports, but recharge with RedTek (I usually recharge every 2yrs)
-rear heater works and I have removed and installed a T-cut off valve, I have the original heater and will include. Didn't need heater in Texas.
-Too much to list and I have all records saved in two 3-ring binders
The van has always been stored in garage and has Located San Antonio, TX.
PROBLEMS: Odometer works on/off at times, not constantly spinning to record miles, I've only put about 10,000 miles since Subi install. The Subi 2.5 had about 100,000 miles prior to install, but has been completely rebuilt with all new seals, tensioners, Rear back up light doesn't light up, but I have installed the new switch...these two items are notorious for not working but easy fix
