1971 Bay Window Bus Thermostat replacement   Price: 45.00
After having my 71 run hot and finding out the thermostat in the air cleaner was shot and allowing the hot air intake to stay open, I scoured the parts houses and internet to find a replacement part. Turns out even the supposed OEM, or NOS parts that cost over $75.00 were junk and the waxy oil had long since started to seep out through the seal. They moved slightly but not enough to fully close the hot air inlet. So as a big fan of the German engineered oil bath air cleaner and not a big fan of the paper element replacement, we worked out a modern solution. This ad is for a 3D printed high temperature thermoplastic PETG insert and a new Calorstat wax pellet air box thermostat (Volvo part). Simply remove the old one and slip this part into the same hole. It works the exact same way with the spring holding it firmly in place. Please see the Youtube video: https://youtu.be/9qKvLHzxsAA
