1990 Vanagon Ecotec project   Price: 9000
Tax time special - clean KY title in my name

UPDATE: I just realized I have no shots of the inside BUT the inside is perfect. There's a small tear in the rear seat (that's more in the seam) has jump seats, dash is PERFECT, has the original VW rubber floor mat throughout. Back seat still folds down into a bed.

We've all been there - you hit a wall and realize you're never going to get your projects done. I 1000% LOVE my Vanagon and would give up my truck before selling the van but in reality I've got a lot of money tied up in it with new parts and the longer it sits the longer it's never going to get done.

April 2015 $3,375.00 < 45k mile ecotec engine with the complete kit to install including trans adapter, drive by wire pedal and computer. Look them up on youtube some folks get them done in a weekend (those people have help and a supportive family - I don't have that) - even sprung for the upgraded coated header and high output alternator. BTW this is a turnkey engine kit from AlphaFab, not be pulling a motor and hacking the harness together. Just wanted to clarify that.

Jan 2016 $5,050.00 < sent the transaxle off to German TA in Oregon state for a complete rebuild and overhaul:
$1395.00 rebuild of your 1991 VW Vanagon 4 speed manual transmission
$ 0.00 your core in advance your core did have a bad ring & pinion (for your information)
$ 375.00 heavy duty 3rd gear 1.18 - new
$ 375.00 heavy duty 4th gear .75 - new
$1495.00 4.13 Ring & pinion - new
$1335.00 Peloquin limited slip new
$ 67.80 4 qts. BG Ultra Guard gear oil $16.95/qt and you will need 4

Jan 2016 $320 < all new t3 technique poly bushings to completely redo the rear end

2013 ~ $700 Nokian 205/65/16 WR C Van tires - bought FIVE in 2013 and mounted them on a set of passat steel wheels that I had clearanced to fit the vanagon - running 6mm/3mm spacers also from t3. That's four on the van and a full size spare in case you missed it.

That's $9445 in parts that are all sitting in a climate and humidity controlled garage. German TA sent me pictures during the build, I have those and receipts for all this stuff.

For a 90 Vanagon in KY it's very rust free, a little bit started to form in the seams on the side but extremely minor almost not noticeable. Interior is a 8 out of 10 - the outside was a respray of white, the van is originally white. I hit the passenger side back corner into a pole and dented that - not terrible. All wiring works, all lights work, it's a great van. I "think" I still have the car fax before I bought it - the van was in Texas and California for part of it's life before coming back to KY.

WILL NOT SEPARATE - this is an all or nothing deal - if you don't want it all don't ask. I've kept the tags and insurance up on the van thought it's sitting in the garage. Currently the motor and transaxle are still out so you'd have to tow it. No trades - thanks for reading.
