1994 VW Corrado Vr6 Price: 16,900
-That's right. "1994" one of approx 178 units sold that year before vw sent the rest that had been sitting at the port unsold. They were just too expensive for the market at that time.
-Same owner for 20 yrs. A close buddy of mine and i, bought the car from a mutual friend of ours, who was only the second owner. He and wife downsized to a condo after the last kid was out to college. He simply didn't have room for it. Otherwse, i think he would have been buried in this thing he loved it that much. He actually traded in his G60 in on this vr6 back in the day.
The car wasn't in this condition when we got it. Over about a 4 month period we have lightly restored the car and have brought it back to it's former glory.
-This is approx 95% original car. Original paint, drive train etc.....
- This is my 14th Corrado I've owned in my life, and in fact, sold them brand new when i was a much younger man. I'm not a dealer, or a broker. I've owned a vw/audi /porsche repair and performance facility for 20+ years, and have a soft spot for Corrado's.
We've gone through the car and have addressed and corrected the "usual" concerns of any Corrado owner, being mindful of it's originality.
-Every fluid has been changed, air filter, spark plugs, drive belt for the cooling fan to the dummy fan, a/c was simply charged up and is ice cold.
- Every piece of switch gear is present and in working condition. Replaced with a new one,, was the side view mirror switch.
-The ABS is in working condition, and light cycles off after starting as it should. All lights and gauges , including in the center console are working. has a period correct radio that we had to source as well as the radio code and a period correct booklet. Has a correct 1994 Corrado owners manual, although a little tatty these days.
- Just replaced the rear seat pulls to unlock the seat backs to fold down. Has original bungy straps for the rear parcel shelf and are in excellent, pliable, soft condition. The parcel shelf was recovered and in uncut condition.
-The sunroof and rear spoiler are completely functional, and recently lubricated. Brand new hatch struts also installed. Headliner has no sag to it at all. The sunrood liner was professionally replaced as well.
New front upper strut bearings and mounts installed, along with new bump stops and dust boots. Then brand new set of tires , which have not seem mile 1 yet. Car was aligned promptly afterwards.
A super nice replacement set of high quality, reproduction Corrado floor mat were added to complete the cabin. .
A brand new set of factory correct, replacement under hood foam with correct dimples and thickness was also added, due to original flaking off from dry rot as one would expect from age.
-All 3 wipers were replaced during the process. Car comes with 2 keys, plus a reproduction "vr6 pill" key that is still uncut.
-Brand new factory front and rear 'vw' emblems were also sourced and complete the detailed exterior. The tow hook covers are even still in place. The front grill under front bumper is in perfect shape.
-The car was professionally paint corrected, wet sanded, polished and sealed, as well as the interior being treated to a nice massaging to rejuvenate the leather, which is all original and intact. The driver outer bolster has a slight bit of patina to it, but no tears or heavy wear.
All else is present in the interior as it came from the factory.
The car still has it's original exhaust and cat-converter, and passed emissions every year up until 2019 when emissions are no longer needed here in Georgia for 25 yr and older cars.
-The transmission and clutch shifts, and work as they should and are as smooth as butter. The timing chains are quiet as a mouse. Some of the haters out there screaming about needing chains, head gasket and clutch. I can tell you, the car runs, drives, and stops like a 2-3 yr old car. No exaggeration.
- Head lights and tails are clear, and uncracked. One fog does have a crack in it though.
Miles on the car are 111k. Everyone that has seen he car would swear it had 50k on it. The car needs nothing. We have taken the time to bring this back to it's correct, original condition. yeah. With only about 178 units brought in, think about how many are left, in original, unmolested condition as this one.
If would like to discuss anything about the car, feel free to contact me. If all you want to do is yell about how I'm on drugs asking this price for the car, keep moving along.
Have more pics to share when needed
** NOTE: a very nice example 1992 red on cloth, and an in-op sunroof just sold on B.A.T for $19,500 plus buyers fee.
Thanks for taking the time to read to this long ad.
