-Price Drop- $16k 1965 Westfalia SO-42 Walk Thru   Price: 16,000
.
Here is a little general information before getting into specifics:

Approximate SO-42 production totals:
1965: 2,200
1966: 4,700
1967: 5,800
Reference: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=579032

Here's the description of the four SO-42 models:
A42: Westfalia interior, tin top, no tent, no roof rack
B42: Westfalia interior, pop-top, with side tent & roof rack
C42: Westfalia interior, pop-top, no tent, no roof rack
D42: Westfalia interior, tin top, with side tent & roof rack

This bus is the highest optioned model (B42).

With ~2200 made in '65... the following is just an imprecise estimate...
50% of those were pop top (1100)
50% of those were walk through (550)
50% of those walk through pop top models were the B42 (225)
How many walk through B42 models are left?

Original color: Pearl White

This Tourist Delivery has drive-away tent rail and also has Foyer & Privy tent mounts. I have all three tents available. If no tents are purchased from me separately, I will leave the drip rail mounted drive-a-way tent channel and will remove the early style privy/foyer tent mounts. I won't be selling any tents in advance of this sale.

It needs lower perimeter metal (rocker, jack points, etc), needs metal between roof and driver's cab door (donor metal will be included with sale), and it needs a nose (been replaced long ago, not to today's standards & needs to be done again).
Front cargo door is rusty & I’ll include a very nice and dry Kombi door.
Fuel door is rusty & I’ll include a nice one.

Pressed bumper seen in a couple of the pics is gone and a pretty straight original slash blade and towel bar will be included.
An original rear pointy bumper blade and rear towel bars will be included (this bus was built June 15, 1965 so it would have the '66/'67 style rear bumper). I may have some used bumper guards.

Cabinets are all there. Original ice box, drip tray and wire rack are there and in good condition. Comes with a new ice box door seal.

Front seats need upholstery. Mustard upholstery is fair/good... no cuts up front, one small cut in back... some worn corners at the walk through area.

Engine is there, but not running. Back brakes have do not have shoes.

It has three Bay era cabinet handles, but original square style ones will also be included with sale.

Comes with a set of “one key” original rechromed door handles / polished stainless hatch button / ignition.

One pop top hinge is rusty.

An Eberspächer heater originally came in the bus... but is gone.
The front roof rack is gone / not included.

End of bus description.
Notice: ---> What's mentioned up above is what comes with the bus.
