1969 Westy - Good Condition - Great Project Car   Price: $3750
1969 Westfalia with all original interior furnishings. Motor, trans, fuel tank, all removed from vehicle at this time but included with sale. Motor is not original, it's from a Type III, according to the man from whom I purchased the vehicle (I believe he was the 2nd owner), but I have a 2nd engine block that may be the original, which I would encourage the buyer to take as well, but that 2nd motor would need a lot more TLC. The good motor was removed to rebuild heads, replace clutch and pressure plate, and I pulled the fuel tank and did a refinishing of the fuel tank interior with POR-15. I did the work and reassembled the motor and was ready to put her back together, then moved away to college and the rest is history. The vehicle has been stored at my mom's house ever since (she has been very patient). You will see in the photos that it has some moss growing on it, a good pressure washing would be helpful. Very little rust that I have observed, a little bit under the bay window but not elsewhere, although I haven't given it a particularly thorough inspection. Rubber window trim pieces are all obviously quite old, the pop tent will need replacing, but the body is in good condition. The motor *should* be almost ready to go, but having never started it I can't say for sure. Has the Z bed, has the jump seat and the stool, sink/icebox, closet storage stuff, it's all there.

I acquired this bus from a close family friend back in 2003 a year after I graduated from high school with great ambitions to restore it and drive it across Route 66. 16 years and 2 kids later, we're moving houses and I think it's time to pass this project on to someone with more time and ambition.
