1964 sunroof bug /drag / Baja / show project   Price: 1
1964 Beetle Sunroof

(First year of the crank operated metal sliding sunroof. Last year of the small windows)

Long story.... purchased in Compton CA 1999. Drove for a year. Completely stripped. In garage in Lakewood CA till 2005. Moved to Spring Hill TN. been in garage since. 19 yrs. DRY.

I was trying to make the prettiest nicest thing I’ve ever seen. Ran out of time, money or something. The body has rust in the usual spots heater channels stuff like that. The front has been cut for a one piece front end. The pan and front beam have been completely gone through cleaned sandblasted new pan halves installed, adjustable front end stock-lower. powder coated reflectra silver . Everything on the pan has either been powder coated, polished aluminum, stainless steal or chromed. There’s a lot more to it but I can’t think of it all right now . Chromed spindles, steering box, pitman arm, tierods, steering coupler...etc. Has front and rear AC industries wide five disk brakes with e-brake. Chrome e-brake w/ billet button, billet heater control knob. New shocks, all new rubber seals / mounts. There is also two transmissions available. One is a very well-known built, very heavy duty turbo tranny out of a very well known racecar. Another one is a Transwest pro street with a broken first/reverse. welded trans mid mount. There is a W decklid, I have two extra uncut dashes. It has sway-away brand 30mm (I believe) torsions, buggy master cylinder, stainless hoses, pretty much already plumbed, and has Hurst “role control” staging brake already plumbed in. Centerline wheels race runner front tires and mh slicks w/ screw bead locks. I will be in Tennessee for two weeks if anybody wants to check it out. Spring Hill is in between Columbia and Franklin.. south of Nashville about 30 minutes I believe . Will consider trades for Ford / Dodge 4x4 truck. Model T / A Or something nice or interesting. When I get to Tennessee I will post more pictures. I will be in TN Friday 28th this week through the 12th of July. Call for more info / questions.
