1976 Porsche 914 2.0 – 92k miles Price: $12000
1976 Porsche 914 2.0 in Nepal Orange with the original fuel injection. 1976 was a limited production year with only about 4100 cars produced. This is car #1598.
This car was sold New originally by Lasher Porsche/Audi here in Sacramento on April 30, 1976 and was maintained by Lasher until 45317 miles in November of 1978, according to the stamps in the original maintenance manual. I found it parked in a garage in 2013 with 91k miles and not running due to multiple minor issues and still owned by the original owner.
The car is very original:
All original paint except for left front fender and headlight cover. It must have been a minor fender bender as I do not see any signs of damage inside the fender or to the headlight bucket. Unfortunately the paint/clearcoat used for the repair did not hold up like the rest of the car, and has checked and yellowed. The rest of the original paint is in fair condition, but it would really benefit from paint correction, color sanding, and detailing. as it has been touched up in places and does have some scratches etc.
The car is an original A/C car, but it is currently not working
The car does have the desirable 2.0 Liter Fuchs wheels
All original carpet and interior (except seat covers which I had reupholstered with OEM fabric).
Original jack and carpet in trunk.
The original dash does have some cracks
Battery tray does have some rust/corrosion holes in it, but it holds the battery securely.
There is no rust through the Hell Hole from the engine compartment, but the rear of the passenger floor pan has rusted through along the base of the firewall. I have a new replacement panel, but have not installed it as the car is always garaged and I treated the metal with rust converter to stop any further rusting.
There is a long crease/dent in the drivers side floor pan. It looks like the car was driven over something tall like a curb. This is mainly cosmetic does not impact how the car runs or drives.
The original windshield is still in the car, but it does have a long vertical crack. I have not replaced it as it is the original glass. Replacement glass is available and I will include new windshield molding clips and spacers with the sale of the car
I have rebuilt or replaced the following:
New Tires (September of 2018)
New Battery (March 2019)
New Rubber Brake Hoses
New Rubber Fuel Injection Fuel Lines and Vacuum Lines
New Electric Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter, and Fuel Tank Screen
New Shift Bushings
Changed Oil, with New Oil Filter, and Air Filter
Reupholstered Front Seats with OEM Orange Plaid fabric
New Wiper Blades
Since this is a 1976 car, it is required to pass California Smog. I have not had it tested to see if it will pass as it is currently licensed in Arizona. I am selling the car as-is so buyer is responsible to handle any smog testing and related repairs etc.
Clean title in my name
Car comes with 3 keys
The car starts, runs, and drives great. I just drove it on a 500 mile road rally in April and it averaged 31 miles per gallon. Since it still has the original fuel injection, it starts and runs great at any elevation, including around Lake Tahoe
I will sell all my items currently listed for sale on The Samba as a package for $25k firm
