The SP2   Price: 19350
So you want to drive around in one hell of an Awesome, Rare and Mad Aircooled VW, then you want to be driving round in this, THE VW SP2!
Now is your chance!

For Sale 1972 VW SP2, first year of production for the very short run of this all steel Volkswagen “sports car”.
Factory built by VW of Brazil, the SP2 ran from 72 to 76 with only 10,205 being made. Never officially sold in Europe other than just Portugal, there are only a handful over here, so it’s unusual to see one even at the biggest VW events. This car is VIN 1414, so very early in production.

If you don’t know of this very car already then let me fill you in, imported from Brazil to the Netherlands by Martin Hobé of Revs Automotive Garage, who then set about turning it into the most head turning one in existence! Slammed, narrowed and on Porsche Fuchs, a standard combination for an Aircooled, but find another SP2 with the formula, I challenge you!!

The car had been restored in Brazil at some point in its past, in the original silver with red trim and was left as is so could become his driver, and man did it get driven! Of course why wouldn’t it, when it’s really been set up to drive well. A new narrowed ball joint type 1 beam with dropped spindles and long travel ball joints and air shocks up front to allow the ride height to be easily adjusted from the drivers seat! Adjustable springplates on the rear allow the back to sit right down making this the lowest SP2 in the world!
Despite that, you can sit in this and cruise happily, and doesn’t bang and crash into the tarmac and combined with the unique driving position of almost lay down :) It feels like you are being propelled at a million miles per hour, as you are so close to the ground, you are looking under the sills of the 4x4 next to you at the traffic lights!

Running a 1600 pancake twin carbed motor from a Brazilia, that million miles per hour is definitely a bit more sedate in reality.
The interior was retrimmed back when it was restored and retains its factory seats.

Featured and the cover car in Hayburner magazine, issue 24. This car turns heads wherever it goes! It left Martin and went to live in Spain for a while so is currently still Spanish registered. It is now based in the UK, near to Birmingham in the Midlands. NOVA paperwork has just been sent off, so UK buyer can be the first UK registered keeper. Also happy to assist with shipping for international buyers.

So if you want to be asked “what is it?” at every fuel stop, own and drive the car that you see right here, £19350 or nearest offer. Original wheels and tyres and stock front beam included in sale. Message me for more info. Open to offers and Part X. Probably the cheapest SP2 on the market at the moment.
