1987 vanagon syncro high top ej22   Price: 24500
Meet Big blu, to start with, if you are looking for a mostly original vanagon, look else where. Big blu started life as a gl tin top, but has had many changes made to her..

She currently has a 2.2 Subaru motor with a Small car Performance conversion kit. I do not know the mileage! A decoupler has been installed in place of the original VC. The top is an adventure wagon with a very large storage space over the cab and a retractable bed. The interior is a weekender set up.

I have owned this van since may 2017. Original plan was to move to Uruguay in her with my family. I purchased her in Bend ,Oregon (). She has go westy16 inch wheels, and some go westy badges and bumpers, not sure if she was ever in their shop. She has old man emu shocks and struts, sitting on lifts springs and 1 1/2 wheel spacers. Since purchasing, I have replaced all fluids, exhaust manifold, fuel pump, all filters, all bushings, rebuilt the shift linkage, complete rebuild of all four cv axles, five new tires, new upholstery on the rear seats, battery, lithium back up battery, stainless coolant lines and tank, Steering rack, all lights converted to led, smoked lenses, round headlights, all brake hoses and tons of other small things. She drives good , shifts good, and grabs attention everywhere she goes.

While Blu looks fabulous to me, she is not for everyoneís tastes. she is tall so clearance can be an issue. Her paint i(not by me) is tractor paint that was poorly applied and is now peeling along the edges(see photos) she was originally metallic blu, so itís not too noticeable until you look closer. I personally fell in love with her patina. There are a few minor dents and it appears that there have been some body repairs on the driver side. The sliding door needs a new latch. There Is a rack on top for luggage. The front seats are original and in poor condition but the passenger seat does swivel. The heat works but the blower went bad recently. No air conditioning, but the subŪ motor has its original compressor. There is almost no rust (steps). the worst thing on this van is a small crack on the frame in the drivers side wheel well, itís on the outer side of the frame tube and is an easy fix for someone who can weld.

Why am I selling? Well, that is because the country we have moved to (Uruguay)will not allow us to import her . So we moved with hopes to figure it out later. Last year a friend drove her as a daily driver to keep the spiders out, but he could not continue and now she sits in Missouri. We still cannot import her and it tears me up that she is just sitting. So, she is for sale.

My father has the clear title and power of attorney to do this transaction. If it is necessary for me to return, I can. I must sell this van by June! Make your best offer.
Iíll be happy to answer any questions or get additional photos.
