1966 Barn Find Beetle   Price: $15000
Here is a beautiful red 1966 Volkswagen Beetle for sale. 1966 is a great year for VW collectors as it is the last year for sloped headlights, pointed engine lid, old style interior door handles, 6 volt electrics, and a one year only 1300cc engine. This one has the original engine block but has been upgraded to a 1600cc with a 2 barrel carburetor to keep up with modern traffic, however, all original parts for the engine were saved and are included. The car still retains the original 4 speed manual transmission with all new seals and new drum brakes.

Even though the owner just restored this car about 2 years ago, he has owned it for approximately 20 years and always kept it inside. It had been rolled on the driverís side around 1981 (inspection sticker) and placed in a barn at that time where it was when he found it making this car a true barn find! The original title was lost but he has a clean clear title for it.

The driverís side of the roof was repaired the right way by welding in a good panel from a donor car(see pictures). All rubber seals were replaced and chrome accent pieces were added that are period correct along with brand new front & rear bumpers. The red & white wheels make the white fender beading and white rear window trim stand out giving this Bug a unique style all its own. The outside is completed with a show quality paint job using PPG Acrylic Urethane Ruby Red VW code L456 that has excellent gloss and shine.

The interior still has 3 of the original door panels and back seat with only the driverís door panel being replaced and the front seats reupholstered. Both front windows roll up & down as new and it has the optional rear pop-out windows. With the exception of the original AM radio, all of the 6 volt electrical components work as new and were either replaced or reconditioned. The interior has beautiful ivory colored knobs, a white steering wheel with red horn ring and is finished up with a new white headliner and new gray carpet. The trunk was carpeted as well and has all the original pieces including the bias ply spare tire and jack!

The owner / restorer has been doing bodywork & paint for about 40 years with about 20 years dedicated to restoring and preserving VWs. His work has won 4 best of show awards, best paint twice, and was even featured in a magazine. He does all restoration work himself including mechanical, electrical, upholstery, and body & paint replacing with new parts where needed but reconditioning original parts when possible. He does everything himself that way he knows it is done right and even went the extra mile by using rust prevention measures throughout the car to insure the next owner years of carefree use and enjoyment.

The owner enjoys driving the cars that he restores hence the missing hubcap. It came off on a drive recently and he couldn't find it so if he hasn't replaced it yet, the price will be adjusted to reflect it.

This 1966 VW Beetle is ready to be picked up today and is located in north central Arkansas. Please call (no texts) 870-449-6053.
