1991 Volkswagen Vanagon Syncro Westfalia TDI Price: 64000
Selling my baby. Very sad about it… but my loss is your gain.
Amazing opportunity. It’s a 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon Syncro Westfalia with A/C and a brand new TDI engine installed with less than 1,000 miles. It has been lovingly cared for…

Why am I selling? We are likely to move to Japan too for a few years within the next 6 months. So best to get this done now rather than wait. Because my wife said I need to.
This 1991 Syncro Westfalia has undergone an extensive 7-year build in which EVERY major system, bushing, bearing and seal has been replaced or upgraded with the ultimate goal of establishing confident reliability in a rare VW van. The end result is a head-turning 4WD VW Vanagon that drives straight, cruises the highways comfortably at 75+ MPH and is a true off-road warrior! 23mpg or higher too. If you are knowledgeable about VW Syncros then you are well aware that it requires a great deal of time, effort and money to produce a custom van of this quality.

Detailed key points of history… 2011 to 2012
(2011) Bought from a really nice guy in Canada. (Vancouver Island) I went through all the import process to bring it to the USA.
Immediately, installed a Ford Bostig engine into it. (later I replaced this for various reasons). I did this with Eion’s Automotive in Seattle at his old location. He did an amazing job taking care of me. He still does even today!
I then took it to get extensive bodywork done with Peacevans.com. I mean EXTENSIVE. I think I was pretty much their first customer and helped them launch into business. Undercarriage rust repair, rhino-liner coating, etc. The entire car was taken apart, sandblasted, then re-assembled. I have all the photos from this process still.
