1975 Westfalia Camper   Price: $19500
1975 Westfalia Camper w/ custom German modifications
- Original 1600 DP motor (last year in Germany this was an option)
- 3rd owner
- Garage kept for (at least) the last 25 years

Story: Helga was purchased from the original owners in Germany by a Canadian couple who imported her back to British Columbia. The 2nd owner, a VW mechanic, lovingly traveled in Helga for over two decades before selling her to the next generation (my wife and I). Now expecting twin boys in July with a two year old already in tow, we must sadly look to part with Helga after four years of camping across the Pacific NW.

The Good:
- 213,000 Km (odometer/speedometer in Km/Km/Hr)
- Complete motor rebuild at 207,000 Km (Rudy & Peter Motors in B.C.)
- Excellent, consistent compression in all 4 cylinders
- New breaks late 2016 (Reference Automotive in WA)
- Refurbished carburetor early 2020 (same as above)
- Tuned-up every 3-6 months
- Original interior in very good condition
- Front bench seat with storage below (seats 3)
- Two-burner propane stove functions well
- Original pop-top canvas with no rips
- Thule roof rack
- Trailer hitch with new wiring mid 2017
- Original pin-stripping in good condition
- Drives, shifts, breaks, and looks great...we turn heads and get peace signs everywhere we travel :-)

The "Meh":
- Drips some oil (most older VWs do)
- Propane fridge does not work (currently used as an ice box)
- Cab headliner has some minor tears (currently covered by National Park stickers)
- Drivers side door color, repainted by 2nd owner, does not quite match original paint

The Bad:
- Lower rocker rust-through (see photo). The rust existed when the 2nd owner purchased Helga over 25 years ago. As with the 2nd owner, we chose to use the camper as is and not address it. Most recent quote was $2,000 to completely replace rockers (again, we chose not to move forward)

I have photos of every component of Helga - please email me if you would like to see something not shown in the ad photos.
