1954 Oval Sedan Price: 23500
To some an early Oval Bug on a 1970 chassis is the "Holy Grail" of VWs especially when built to this degree. This particular one is built to near perfection. No expense spared.
Built in the early 2000s in Sacramento Ca. it literally has the best of everything.
Engine is a 2276cc built on an original ARPM case. Trans is custom built with a bit higher gearing so it cruises at 70mph at 3k rpm.
The chassis as mentioned is ball joint front IRS rear. The front beam has adjusters and 2" drop spindles with disc brakes front. The entire chassis is powder coated to an extremely high quality in gloss black. The pans and all interior panels have had Dynamat applied.
The body is entirely steel and all body work is beautifully done. The paint is Spanish green. Dash is uncut. The semaphores are installed with all pieces intact, but are not operational. The car does have modern turn signals.
The interior is all leather and in great condition. The seats are out of a later Passat and fit perfectly.
The car has 3545 miles since the build. It is very well sorted out and needs nothing either cosmetic or mechanical. It starts easily and runs and drives smooth.....and it's fast!
This car as never been wet and stays in a climate controlled garage.
I'm 67 years old and have a couple of other VW projects in the works......it's time for this one to go. I'm in no hurry to sell, but want to be realistic about the pricing.
There are obviously many questions to ask, so fire away. I can be reached anytime at 325 234 7979 9am to 10pm CST. Phone or text.
I have tons of pictures and I will gladly take specific pictures for serious buyers.
I'll include pictures later today.
I have owned the car since 2009 and have title in hand.
Could be interested in a trade such as an original, drivable '59-'67 Bug or Bus.
