1957 Oval Beetle **Matching Numbers**   Price: 25000.00
Totally rust free 1957 Oval that's a matching numbers car. Built on May 24, 1957 and has the original motor & transmission that it left the factory with. It's also the original "Horizon Blue" also. I'm guessing it was repainted over 25 years ago. It's a very high quality repaint where all the fenders & doors were removed. There are no tape marks and i would rate the paint a 9 on a scale of 1-10. I have several under carriage pictures and shows to have all the original pans and heater boxes.
This Beetle is a US spec car that was sold new in England to a military man by the name of R. Sutton. Delivery was taken at Volkswagen Motors LTD. in London on June 24, 1957.
It made it's way back to the US sometime in 1962. It was serviced at Grant & Dochak VW in Geneve New York on August 29, 1962.
From there it was sold to a Paul & Kathhryn Jessup in Scottsville New York. They owned the car until 1997. From there it made it's way to Maine. I purchased this VW from the granddaughter of a fellow that owned it since the early 2000's and only used it in the summer. I'm told that he barely drove it 500 miles a year.
Included with the car are the original owner's manuals, service booklets, VW Birth Certificate, complete & original tool kit, jack, spare tire, and three keys.
I just had a complete service which included 4 new radial tires, Die Hard Battery, oil service, valve adjustment, carburetor service, spark plugs, front end rebuild, and lubrication.
Everything works on the car including the interior light. I also have the 48 year old bias ply tires that look brand new if the new buyer wants them.
I do have several additional photos that I will gladly share. I can also assist with shipping arrangements a the buyer's expense. For example, enclosed carrier transporter to Florida is $1400 and to southern California is $2300.
I will entertain serious offers and I'm including my home phone number and encourage test drive and/or inspections.
This is a very honest Beetle with lots of documentation.
