Here is a hard to find copy of Popular Mechanics from July of 1955 featuring a barndoor bus camper on the cover.
From the article:
"The camping unit complete with luggage rack, awning, washstand, clothes locker and other items lists for $525. You can buy the beds and table alone for $240, if you prefer to rough it a little."
Got to LOVE those prices!
Article makes NO mention of Westphalia at all
I love the period graphics and old advertisements in these 65+ year old magazines!
Binding is very tight, no loose pages.
I would give the exterior binding a 80 out of 100, looks pretty good compared to most I have seen, couple red pen marks and a little dirt on rear cover, see pictures.
All in all, a very solid copy of this must have magazine for the VW bus lover!
