1986 Vanagon Syncro 3knob Camper   Price: 16500
$16.500 no trades!
Rebuilt title! (I bought it like that from the previous owner)
this is a tip top camper conversion!
I will remove the add when it is sold!
1986 Vanagon gl syncro 4wd camper van. it has (3 knobs) front & rear locking differential ,decoupler and low granny gear (you can lock all 4 wheels a true 4x4). this thing is a offload beast. the pop up camper conversion was done by Foreign Policy VW shop in fort Myers, Fl in 2010, they used a donor van roof and camper top and welded onto my van. you can see on the picture the rust!
camper sleep 2 up and 2 or 3 on the Botton. it has a folding table that comes from the wall and the front seats swing back.
it has the stock 2.1 4 cylinder engine, it was rebuilt by the previous owner about 80.000 miles ago, but it has some oil leaks and probably will be a good time to refresh, rebuilt or go with your choice of engine conversion: Subaru, ford, Diesel, etc.
the transmission was rebuilt about 40.000 miles ago a shop in Bend, Oregon called AA Transaxle in 2009. We also installed a heavy duty 4th gear from Rancho Transaxles in 2013. the body has 250.000 miles. or 400.000 kilometers.
It has a 2" lift done by the previous owner to fit the 225'75'16 tires, custom front and rear bumper with a never used 12.000 bad land winch.front bumper has rust! it has a rear swing arm carrier that hold a spare tire and four 5gl cherry cans or water cans.also 3 roof bars to carrier what ever you can lift.
it has a 80W HP solar panel connect to a dual deep battery under the driver seat, 1800wt converter, etc.
I replace the clutch, the signal filter for air flow meter and the shifter selector level elbow on 2019
work done in the past two months:
3 new vacuum servo and lockers switch
4 new A/T tires.
changed all 4 axels
tie rod assembly
front's upper ball joint
front's wheel bearings
rear caliper's
new brake pads.
change the oil cooler seal.
the van had no rust until we move to Florida from Las Vegas. but start rusting in the usual spots. the under carrier is solid.
things to fix :
passenger side hand brake parking,
need probably a air idle control valve to control the idle.
Windshield is crack , I have the gowesty windows seal kit to go with it.

I purchased in Portland OR, own it since 2008 we did severals long distance trips all over the U.S.,Alaska, Canada, and Mexico but we decide to look for a different vehicle to travel with.
here is some pictures of our trips

the van is in the shop this week here in Boone ,NC at west king Euro. Matt is doing a full check up, they will be doing some minor repair for now. my idea is sale it as it is since I have other projects I want to focus on.
I have some of the receipts and some back in Florida, the important ones like transmission rebuilt, clutch.etc I can get it from my bank account statement. I will continue to update this add since there is a lot that it is been done since I purchased it.
please let me know if you have any questions.
thank you
