1971 Super Beetle "German Look" Price: 15000
1971 Super Beetle "German Look"
While the paint/body is not "show quality," the price is a result of the numerous mechanical upgrades.
I may also consider selling the car for cheaper with a 1641cc more "stock" engine I have. Mods are as follows:
Front disk conversion, Calipers painted red
Rear Porsche 944 hub, rotor, and caliper swap.
E-brake ghetto converted so it still works.
~Brake fluid could use a flush~
Topline Maxx Struts - lowering the front
7/8" Sway bar
Flip it! kit to fix bump-steer and caster when lowered
Lowered via torsion bars
Bushings upgraded with red polyurethane ones.
Rear Sway bar added
Real Porsche Boxster 7" wide rims all around
Front tires 205/40R17
Rear Tires 215/45R17 (The Porsche 944 brake setup adds width, removing the necessity of using a spacer in the rear)
Engine: (Here's where you're getting your money's worth)
Jake Raby's DTM V2 Cooling shroud
Type 4 Engine 2056 CC (71mm crank 96mm Piston/Cylinders)
Big Valve heads just added seriously less than 1000 miles ago.
44 mm intake & 36 mm exhaust valves - Weak Chinese springs and retainers replaced with quality singe rev hi-perf springs and chromoly retainers
Type 4 Scat C-35 Cam and solid lifters
Heavy duty aluminum pushrods for use with solid lifters
External Oil cooler with fan connected to a 180 degree thermostat
Just did an oil/filter change
Dual Dellorto DRLA 40's Jetted pretty close to what this engine needs (I had a wideband gauge I bought but lost during one of my moves)
Fuel pressure regulator and fuel pressure gauge in-line to carburetor
**Sync-Link Throttle system** ITS AMAZING! SEE PHOTOS OF PULLEYS ON CARBS - SO EASY TO SYNC
German CSP-Python 42mm Type 4 into-a-type 1 exhaust with hideaway muffler $$$
CB Performance Black Box totally programable ignition. References intake manifold pressure off all four intakes to adjust ignition advance.
Locked out 009 distributor with Pertronix electronic ignition.
Headlights are LED's - really cool upgrade and really improves visibility for night driving.
California Car, a ton of rust repair was done when I restored it. The only rust issue we never fixed was a nickel sized hole under the battery tray.
Porsche 911 (996) Fully electric seats
Aftermarket Carbon Fiber trimmed Steering Wheel
Real Porsche 914 Tachometer
Custom Digital Gauge Cluster that includes:
Speedometer, Cylinder Head Temp, and a Multi-gauge (Oil Temp, Oil Pressure, Voltage, and Fuel Level* [*not connected])
Aftermarket stereo and speakers. (Amp is included, but I think something died in it, so right now all the speakers are run directly to the head unit. Wires for subwoofer are there, but I stole the sub and put it in my truck.
~REAL Hurst quick shifter~ These are worth around $300 on The Samba. I may remove this and keep for myself.
I did the headliner myself and I didn't do a very good job. It's kind of saggy.
Battery was replaced in late 2018
I have literally SO many parts for this car that I am hoping to offload to the new buyer. I have a turbo, lots of type one engine parts, exhaust parts, numerous carburetors, etc. Please contact me if you're interested.
