2000 VW Jetta GLS vr6 Price: 1500 obo
This have been a very reliable beater car for me for the last year and a half. It gets up and moves with the vr6 and the 5 speed. The heat is hot hot. In the time ive owned it I have put 21k miles on it, including a 6600+ mile road trip to the Pacific Northwest with my 2 dogs and a tent trailer in tow. The best mileage Iíve gotten on the highway has been 38mpg coming back from the twin cities. Obviously itís not perfect, standard mk4 rust starting on the hatch and front fenders. the underside is quite clean. Has its quirks, has character but has only not started once for me. I was in the middle of no where in NW Washington had to pop start it and drive to portland to pick up a starter and install it in the oreilIys parking lot. I was also not the one to come up with the quick disconnect front bumper, altezza taillights or auto zone fog lights. Doesnt leak or burn any oil or coolant or any other fluids gor that matter. I have done a healthy amount of maintenance since Iíve owned it. All parts were replaced with OEM parts, not cheap shit.
The list includes:
Front and rear brakes
Front and rear brake hoses
Both rear wheel bearing
Rear abs sensors
Sachs clutch kit
Clutch engagement arm
Rear main seal
Front main seal
Coolant overflow bottle
Oil filter housing seal
Oil cooler seals
Drivers side axle
Drivers side window regulator
Air and cabin filters
Control arm bushings
Both Outer tie rods
Both ball joints
Passenger front wheel bearing (will include an abs sensor if damaged during install)
Exhaust clamp between the 2 halves (it is still there just rusted. exhaust is still pretty quite)
Front windshield (although the cracks do not affect field of vision)
On extended highway driving the CEL periodically comes on for a cat efficiency fault. Iíve also noticed the shielding on the wires for the rear o2 sensor has cracked off and exposed parts of the wires, so this could be part of the problem as well. It does not effect mpg or performance at all, does not act like a clogged cat or get overly hot. I was planning on cutting it out anyway and making my own exhaust before winter.
Reason for sale:
Too many cars haha
My plan was to lift this and put some big knobby boys on it and make it my designated winter beater. However I found a TDI Mk4 that I decided to do this to instead, so this ones got to go.
Ready to drive home. Roof rack, hitch and Audi fat five rims are not included. Comes on 15Ē rims with mis matched tires, snows up front and all seasons in the rear. Clean title in my name
Price is $1500 obo. Perfect daily/winter beater. Or part it out and use the drivetrain in another jetta/golf or classic VW. Dont waste my time i can spot a scam a mile away
P.S. the airbag light is on because i disconnected them. i dont really feel like getting hit with a 20 year old airbag in the event of a crash but thats just me. Plugged in and codes cleared the light will go away
