Washburn’s Metal is pleased to now offer our Transporter Cart System for purchase. We put this cart system on every split window bus we build here at the shop and the cart is designed to fit all Transporter/Truck models from 1955 to 1970. This cart is a must when performing a full metal restoration. After removing the drive-train and suspension we find this is the best way to mobilize the bus around the shop. As well, transportation on a flat bed tow truck is a breeze to and from media blasting. This cart system is utilized on the bus throughout the course of the restoration process until final assembly of the suspension and drive-train. Whether you are restoring a bus yourself or are having a shop do the work, the Washburn’s Transporter Cart System is the best option for mobility. Now comes fully powder coated at no additional cost.
Each cart system is hand assembled right here at Washburn's Metal in Orange, CA. The mounting plates are precision laser cut and inspected to insure a quality fit and finish. The casters are 6” heavy-duty solid steel construction with ball bearings and feature greaseable zerk fittings. They have been put to the test on previous builds enduring multiple rounds of media blasting and paint over spray. Each Transporter Cart system comes with all necessary hardware to assemble and install on your vehicle. The rear legs feature locking swivel casters so while the bus is being worked on it will not roll away from you.
Each Transporter Cart is made to order and has a lead time of up to 7 days from placement of order. Local pickup is preferred, however shipping is optional for an additional cost.
