“VW Beetle louver - Covers”

Hi, this is Joe Cali, long time classic VW enthusiast and author of “The Type IV Upright Conversion Manual”, with a new accessory designed for Air Cooled Beetle owners. This should be of special interest to owners of Convertible VW Beetles and 70’s and later coupes. Also for Rear deck lids that were installed by owners of earlier custom modified beetles for additional cooling.

louvers have been problematic. Allowing water, dust and dirt enter the carburetors, filters and corrode electronics and allow insects to make nests. Adding up to expensive repairs.

The Next Generation- “Beetle Magnetic Deflector Shield” installs and removes from the louvers instantly, which is absolutely perfect for storing your Beetle. Or just sticking it on during a rain storm!

Below is a list of Prices for each Piece or you can purchase the 3 Piece kit that comes out to less money - If you can only uses 2 of the items I am sure you have a friend that may be able to use a shield if his louvers are newer or older.

VIDEO -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTz9fRzQ_2U&t=99s

Check to make sure the video did not start in the middle !! If you do not see my 914 powered red bug driving towards you, Pull the curser to the left !!! ( my first video -- give me a brake ) ha !!

Note: When showing the engine I said " it was the first T-4 upright conversion using T-1 parts in 1998 " Correction it was 1989 .

PLEASE READ THE REALLY SMALL PRINT! The Rear Deck Louvers are designed for cooling. Therefore, if the Beetle Magnetic Deflector Shield is in placed over the louvers when the engine is running there is a possibility of the engine overheating.

The VW Beetle Convertible should only use the BMDS when the engine is not running.

The BMDS will not stick to Aluminum, Fiberglass, Body Filler (Bondo). If in doubt use a small magnet to test placement area.

Clean the area of application before placement of the BMDS. After rain or snow, wipe away any moisture, between the BMDS and louvers. Clean BMDS with mild soap and water solution.
