European Tail Light Lens Late Type 3/Ghia: NOS   Price: $240MailedLwr48
Genuine German Hella for Volkswagen: NewOldStock NOS: Three (3) Part Number 311 945 223 P Lens--Tail Light. These be the European versions with Amber/Yellow top portion. Applicable for Type 3 from Chassis Number 310 2000 001 (August 1969 Model Year 1970 through end of production!! Applicable for Karman Ghia from Chassis Number 142 2000 001 (August 1971 Model Year 1972 to end of production. This is One Set of Two plus a Spare-Spare is cracked but quite usable! A Mighty Fine set of lens, like virtually all lens, nos or not, they incur minor scratches and smudges during a long life of survival through the years. These are hand polished to a Sheen, removing many imperfections, but some remain. One has to view closely and know what to view for to discern. Additionally, and worth stating, even directly from Factory Hella lens often are not perfect. Two of these lens have a tiny spot just above the seal line, on left side, hardly visible, but factory defect, as is a tiny tang on bottom side of one lens, (miniature file and file off). A difference between the two main lens is, on the inside, where the reflector portion of lens is, one is Gray, the other is Red. The Spare is Gray in this portion as it was originally with the other Gray lens. Many years back when first acquired, it was cracked, guilty party undetermined, upon acquisition!. The Spare: A very good lens, in past at some point incurred perhaps a drop, and gained a crack at frontal area, a tight one at that, so as to say, not Open. Quite serviceable, I would suggest perhaps applying some sealer/glue on the inside portion of lens, just in case, to allay any possible moisture build up. These were test mounted to a taillight base and attached as designed, with the long top screw, ensure it is fitted correctly into the mounting hole so as not to cross thread-easy to do! In images in ad, lens look short, however they are indeed almost 14 inches long. Script on lens Top to Bottom as follows: Hella, Made in Germany, 22, E1, 43334R6, RS1, E1, 43334R7, 1 E1, 4334R3, 34, E1 2319. For Type 3 Numbers 16 (lens) 17 and 18 Screws refer in Illustrated Parts List! For Karmann Ghia Numbers 38 (lens) 39 and 40 screws refer in Illustrated Parts List! Ensure application: $240MailedLwre48 Insured/Tracked. US Postal Money Order.
