63 Sportwagen Campmobile Tintop   Price: $16
Ive been hit with nearly 20k in Bad luck in the last two months. Gotta sell asap. PM offers and well talk. Only trade Id be interested in is a classic truck PLUS at least $7.5 cash.

1963 Sportwagen Campmobile Weekender camper located in NE Ohio. German Bus came from SC in the '80s and to me in the 2000s. It's a good running, driving, camping bus with minimal rust considering life in the midwest. The cargo door rocker and support (I have funky green replacement parts) need to be done,(APPOINTMENT TO BE FIXED 10-30-2022) and that is by far the worst rust. The cargo floor corners need attention (I have funky green right side 10in wide floor replacement panel-ALSO TO BE FIXED 10-30). Front floor outer 1/4's were patched by PO and the rotted battery tray has a replacement panel fit over but not welded. Someone did shitty Bondo work on the nose after the windshield frames were replaced.

The paint on the inside is very nice and shiny on and under the dash and covers 95% of the inside. The package tray is green, and the windshield frames are a red primer on the inside. The doors, cargo doors, and rear hatch have the first brown over-spay color, and some of it has worn off to reveal turkis. Outside, the original paint is under the black and green as seen, and a brown beige first overspray. I have taken a spot or two down to the original Turkis, so at least some of it is there, but only the removal of two layers will say how much. I have put several thousand miles on the bus since driving it home a decade or so ago.

The camp interior is 85% there with the complete cabinet section with mirror, seat/bed, and table (replacement legs). The hinges on the rear cabinet doors need to be fixed, and the original cushions and curtains are all present and in fine useable shape. The magazine rack was removed and patched over at some point. The front seats were recovered brown but the original grey is present underneath. The original spare has never been used, and the original front mats are in nice shape including the mats for under the passenger and driver's seats.

The camper windows are functional (a couple need "help" opening but do work) and keep out the water. Other than the windshield and the camper windows, all other seals need to be replaced. I was going to address that when I figured out the paint but...I used some 3m generic seals to keep it dry for camping, which it does. I have a pretty straight delux rear bumper and a nice rear apron as well.

The electric needs to be sorted but it "works" with the tail lights on a toggle. Brake lights, turn signals, and hazard all work. All original wiring is there, but the previous owner added a harness for gauges. Speedo functions fuel gauge does not. Sits on decent tires on 14in rims (One year only, USA-only Thing rims).

The Single port engine runs fine and doesn't burn oil. I drained and then filled the gear oil in the original reduction box trans and it runs and sounds good at 68mph. The brakes have been all gone through, the steering is reasonably tight, and it drives as you'd expect.
