If you've ever installed a split bus pop out window hinge, you know they can be a pain to locate. Often times while building split window buses the pop out hinges are damaged, bent or just plain locked up and require replacement. This fixture has it all built in, and will save you a considerable amount of time while providing the confidence that after paint the pop out windows will install and function as they should. This fixture helps locate the vertical position of the hinge, while offsetting it the proper distance away from the inner panel to allow room for the inner pop out rubber seal to be installed. If you're just using it to install the hinges on your own personal bus, or if you work on buses often its a a great tool to have in your arsenal. CNC cut and finished in a heavy duty silver hammer tone powder coat.
To use, simply set the fixture in the window opening and slide to the area the hinge will be installed. Take your aftermarket hinge and position it between the upper/lower stops on the fixture. With two flat clamp vice grips handy, clamp the hinge, fixture and rear flange of the window inner panel together through the opening of the fixture. Typically i will take another longer reach C channel clamp and clamp the hinge up against the window opening side wall prior to welding. After clamped into place, begin welding the hinge on.
