Hows it going everyone, up for sale is a 1980 rabbit pickup in Mojave beige with a 1.5 diesel and a 4 speed transmission. Clean title and on non operation (no back fees). Still has the original blue plates the car came with. The truck runs and drives fine. It can be left idling for hours doesn’t overheat at all. Some of the parts we’ve replaced are:
-low temp fan switch
-fuel lines
-oil pump, oil change and filter
-timing belt, tensioner, and valve cover gasket
-heater and coolant hoses
-thermostat, water pump, temp sensor & sender
-oil pressure switch
-rubber brake hoses, brake shoes, and wheel cylinders
“The bad”
The truck has been detailed very nicely but there is a lot of overspray all over the truck, could come off with oven cleaner so I’m told but I haven’t had a chance to try it myself. Also there a few deep dents on both sides (shown in photos). The bed isn’t dented at all, it’s in good shape but the paint is pretty beat up. The dash is unfortunately cracked, there is no radio, and there is a small tear on drive. Lastly, at freeway speeds is when the car tends to smoke like a diesel. In the city it doesn’t smoke much at all, but when it’s chugging along at freeway speeds it does. Engine has higher miles so it might be getting tired so just something to keep in mind.
Other than that the truck runs and drives fine, paint isn’t perfect but polished up nicely nonetheless. And the truck has NO RUST. The body is super solid and engine bay is clean and presentable. One more thing, THESE WHEELS DO NOT COME WITH THE TRUCK. They were a gift so I cannot and do not want to sell them. When purchased, we will throw back on the original 13” steel wheels with all 4 chrome caps. I’m asking $6,000 for this beauty. I’m located in Wilmington Ca 90744.
