I have two sets of these available.
These pistons are hypereutectic, but similar to forged. Due to their heat treatment process and metallurgy, Nippon hypereutectic pistons are as hard as forged pistons but have less expansion rate - Which makes them ideal for long use and daily driving.
(Forged pistons are known to have piston slap when cold, because the piston material expands/contracts more during the heat cycle, which causes them to fail quicker than hypereutectic pistons.)
These pistons are far superior in quality to anything on the market today outside of JE or Wiseco(JE & Wiseco only sell forged pistons).
AA and OE Brand pistons are made in China, Mahle are made in Brazil.
These Japanese pistons & cylinders will last longer in a non-race/daily driver VW than all of these brands mentioned.
