You are looking at a 1950 VW Split-Window Bug. This was the first year for hydraulic brakes, and it has the 25hp motor and non-syncro transmission. The motor and transmission have been fredhly rebuilt with receipts. This Bug has had a body off floor pan restoration; all new floor pans and heater ducts. All the body panels have been repaired and inner panels replaced. All the stock moldings repaired and polished. New chrome bumpers and guards. All new script Sekurit glass and rubber. Completely new wiring harness and gauges rebuilt. Restored bat-wing steering wheel.
16inch wheels and new bias-ply whitewall tires, along with a new whitewall spare with its original style hubcap tool box. New wiper assembly and wiper arms. Brand new original style cloth interior and wool rugs. Original restored roof rack. All the lights work including the restored semifores.
We have receipts for all the original work done plus parts. This bug has the original color code of Bordeaux red, but as you can see it is now a very dark purple color.
In 1950 there were only 328 of these cars imported to the US. This car has been kept as close to original as possible, with plenty of NOS parts! This has been a 5 year restoration project with over $80,000 spent. This is a museum quality show car, it will always win the car show and only go up in value.
