1965 1500S Squareback in mostly original Sea Blue paint with amazing patina and character. Imported from Texas a few years ago she has since undergone an extensive yet sympathetic restoration in order to keep her identity and unique story, with all repairs to the body being paint blended to match her original aged persona. The body was taken off the pan to be repaired properly with the underside of the shell stone chipped and painted body colour to finish. New gerson pan half’s were fitted to the floor pan and then stone chipped underside and finished in gloss black. New rubbers and bushes throughout including a full ISP West window, door and body seal kit. Brand new suspension setup from EVARESTO consisting of a 4" narrowed beam, dropped spindles, long travel ball joints, Empi wide 5 front disc kit, bump steer kit on the front end and adjustable spring plates on the rear. The gearbox has been fitted with early beetle short axles to allow for fatter tyres to be fitted. Strong running 1600 motor with twin empi 34 carbs, 009 distributor, alternator conversion and home built stainless steel tuck away style exhaust. Interior consists of original door panels, new headliner, new load bed rubber mat and full carpet set. The seats are currently wrapped in original 60’s blankets as the original covers were trashed unfortunately but feel they are in keeping with the style of the car. There is an original speedwell steering wheel and new correct shape dash top to finish the dash of nicely. There’s also a parcel tray underneath the dash. Wheels are American racing mag copies with the fronts being narrowed to 4". Original 60’s roof rack that’s been modified to fit the car.
I have a Photobucket album full of pictures of the build of this car that I will forward to serious buyers. The car is fully UK registered.
I live in a port city and can assist in shipping overseas.
