For sale from a private collection!
Since my professional commitments leave me with increasingly less time and hardly any time for my personal life, I'm gradually dissolving my collection step by step! In addition, I don't drive many of the cars at all to maintain their excellent condition and I want to keep the mileage low – which is actually stupid!
Up for sale is one of my 1500S, which I've owned for 12 years now. It has a very low mileage of 74,507 km. I've driven it maybe 500 km during that time, and not at all in the last 5 years... Therefore, it's due for a complete overhaul, and I absolutely don't have the time!
Repainted once in the 80s – according to the previous owner. That was only three persons, by the way, the last two were a father/son team who supposedly only drove the car to classic car events. The original service booklet and owner's manual are included. Furthermore, the first 11 oil change checklists, starting at a mileage of 2701km on October 11, 1965 and ending on July 14, 1978 at 28967km - so an average in the first 13 years of around 2250km PER YEAR!
The paintwork was really beautifully applied. Only the air vent grilles and the seat release levers were overpainted – it's a lot of work to remove and reinstall them, so they saved this time – but it never bothered me!
It has a supernice dealership badge at the rhs front fender (metal one) and black VW logoed mudflaps.
The car isn't welded, is accident free and has been treated with steel rope grease in the critical areas and in the engine compartment. This is how it was done in the original country of delivery, Austria – which is why all the vehicle documents from Austria come with the car (original first title – called the type certificate, as well as the more recent EU registration certificates Parts 1 and 2).
The interior is completely original and in great condition considering its age. The carpet on the right inner sill has unfortunately been eaten a bit by moths, but I was able to stop them before it got worse. You can't really see it when the door is closed, though! The armrests, door panels, the headliner, and the dashboard are crack-free! The driver's seat is completely intact and undamaged from getting in and out of the car, and the other seats are, of course, the same! 60s charm as far as the eye can see! Hard to find these days!
The chrome is beautiful all around, whether it's the bumpers, trim strips, or the trim frames in the window seals (which, by the way, are the original ones)!
As I said, this beauty needs a service due to its long time of not driving it: fuel lines, brake lines, brakes in general, and a new seal here and there. I certainly have everything in stock – what I don't have is the time to do it! So, only those who don't ask me if I can do it should contact me. Thanks for that!
