4pc interior panel set for the classic Volkswagen Beetle and Beetle Convertible.
We have sets for the years 1949 up to 1979 and beyond in case of the Mexican or Brasilian beetles. The sets which need to be upholstered are available in 3mm Birch plywood or 3mm Oiltempered Hardboard, both waterresistant. Note that the Oiltempered Hardboard can be stitched through with a professional sewing machine. Thus making it the best option for the 49-9.52 and 10.52-7.55 interior sets where the original upholstery was stitched directly onto the panels.
All panels will have all the holes needed for the original clips, windowwinders, doorpullers, etc at the correct spot. All optional holes, like ashtrays and pockets, are pre-cut so they can be used if desired.
The sets which are installed with screws and washers can be left in wood and don't need to be upholstered. All they need is a finish. This can be paint, laquer, oil, wrap, etc as long as you protect both sides. A simple and great way to customize your beetle without the need for an upholstery shop! Only the essential holes for the screws, doorpullers and windowwinders are cut, everything else is indicated at the back of the panels (not pre-cut!). Only available in 3mm Birch plywood.
It's highly recommended to use decent installation hardware and plastic door foils that go behind the doorpanels. Especially for the convertibles as they are vulnerable for moisture behind the rear panels as well as the doorpanels. We offer several options regarding installation hardware;
- No installation hardware. If you already bought it or use your own.
- The minimum option includes just the correct clips/rubbers or screws & washer in the regular quality. There will be 50 clips (50 rubbers from 1960 onwards) or 80 screw & washers provided.
Additional charge $25-$45 depending on model/year/installation method
- The premium option includes everything you need to install the panel set in premium quality; 50 clips, 50 rubber grommets (from 1960 onwards) or 80 screws & washers in the best quality available, plastic door foil kit (not with the screw mounted sets) and foam isolation parts for windowwinder and doorpull.
