My new and first Double Cab. oneoldoval
Here is a picture of my new truck. 1968 VW Double Cab from Florida to Georgia. I am proud of my new project. Came with a dual port 1600, with supplemental oil cooler w/ fan. Right now the only change I plan on making is to add a set of FRD Dellortos and start to collect new rubber all the way around. Also to start on the rust. Oh yea and enjoy the Double Cab. Swedish electricity board, 1978 VW 2000 Type 2 pickup NASkeet
This Swedish electricity board, fuel injected, 1978 VW 2000 Type 2, single-cab pickup, equipped with an hydraulic manipulator arm, featured in the classified advertisements section, of the July 2000 issue, of VW Motoring magazine.
Note the Swedish specification, front bumper, overrider-mounted, elecrically-pumped, headlamp washers, which were a standard factory-fitted option, from circa 1973/74 onward.
By coincidence, this vehicle was then owned by Paul Butterworth, in Billericay, Essex, England, whom I visited regarding other 1968~79 VW Type 2 issues, shortly after the advertisement appeared. Consequently, I was given a guided tour of the vehicle and was able to witness first hand, the remarkable effectiveness of the windscreen demisting system, aided by the Eberspächer BA6, auxiliary petrol-fired heater.
