1. Dark green 411 Wagon in background.
2-6. Yellow pre-'70 Squareback driven by main character Glenda Jackson. It has '70+ bumpers and front rectangular blinkers (?!). The other main character played by Walter Matthau gets into the front passenger seat.
Note the crudely hand-painted license plate, white letters on black background to mimic Austrian plates. The "S" stands for Salzburg.

Various VWs in movies, and TV movies Rome
1. I already have a shot of this red early Bay window Deluxe bus in the 1970's TV mystery movie series "McCloud", which is set in New York City. In another episode, this exact same bus is seen, once again as a rear screen projection for the static studio shot of 2 of the main characters. Composite shot, "This must be the Alamo" season 4 episode 5 (1974). Upper portion has US Marshall Sam McCloud (Dennis Weaver) driving; in the lower portion his partner Sgt Joe Broadhurst (Terry Carter) is driving.
2. The presumably same red Bay bus is passing the parked car of the antagonists (upper), McCloud "Three guns for New York" S6E4 (1975). Moments later, a blue early Bay Deluxe passes by (lower).
3. Here is a shot of the same red Bay deluxe in the raw footage for the earlier rear screen projections. Per #2.
4. Ivory Bay window bus on street, McCloud per #1.
5. Beige Bay window bus at intersection, McCloud "Third Avenue rustlers" S3E3.
6. Beetle Karmann Cabrio at New York City intersection, per #5.

Connecticut VW Assoc. 33rd annual Dust-Off, May 7 2023 Rome
I drove to this event yesterday as spectator. Weather was perfect: clear, sunny, low humidity, low 70's. Thanks to CVA for holding the event. Here are a few photos.
1. Overall partial field.
2. Various VWs. The blue '67 Beetle in center is my friend Bill S', with 1776 cc dual-port, Kadron dual carbs, and 36 hp oil bath air filters.
3. Cliff green '75 Beetle is from MuzzcoVW which he fully restored and painted himself.
4. MuzzcoVW (Craig) from Massachusetts and me. We met first time at the event.
5. Red '63 Beetle with owner-widened rims- 6.5" rear with 175 Michelin radials, and 5.0 front. Engine started out as 1200 cc 40 hp but he installed a period-offered 92 mm big bore kit (boring the case) to end up with 1702 cc. The engine looks stock.
6. Red late '60's Squareback with dual Solex 32 PDSIT carbs.
7. Very well done red '66 Beetle.
8. Black '67 Beetle is 67ctbug next to Jason's (5150mxVW) Sea Blue '66.
9. Grey early 60's sunroof Beetle.

69 VW Squareback Vancer
Painted BMW Imperial Blue Metallic. Converted to dual Solex carbs. Added A/C, Alternator replaced Generator, Electronic Distributor replaced Vacuum Advanced. Leather seats (white) and matching white headliner. Front trunk insert; replaced ball joints and tie rod ends. Haven't finished, but adding electric windows, Range Rover rearview mirror with compass and garage door opener. New 80,000 mile tires, new wheels, new white door/panels throughout, new gray carpets on top of new partial floor pans. Added seat belts. New battery. New windshield and rubber surround. All window rubber replaced except back window. Stainless steel trim all around. Added side marker lights. Added padded dash and VW Saffire XV radio. The list goes on and on.
