My Beetle was painted Lime (viper) green metallic between late July-August,1999 and had passenger side heater channel replaced by Curello restorations in CT.*Stay away from that place when restoration is needed on your VW !! The passenger door never closed right from day one.Yes, day one. Check out my other photos of the Beetle door issue. Both doors were replaced due to rust at the bottom of the doors about 5 years ago.The Beetle is getting painted again, will update photo when done.
****Passenger door issue has been fixed by George of Kustom Restorations. A youtube video is available of the door issue fixed.

Here's what I found on a recent super vert restoration. The front left ball joint would pop out of the control arm when the car turned corners. When I bought new (correct) ball joints to install, I discovered that the PO had installed the wrong ball joint that was smaller in diameter and made barely any compression contact into the control arm. They obviously knew there was a problem with this arrangement. Instead of installing the correct ball joints (for $10), this is how they fixed it (but not entirely).
