I cleaned and polished the engine release mechanism, and cut a new length of polyurethane cable shielding. Looks pretty nice, if I do say so myself.

I worked on pollishing up some bits that used to shine. When your car is this ruff looking only you notice the day to day improvements.

I picked up a set of bumpers (mostly complete) for Betty but haven't gotten them mounted yet. I won't be using the towel bars, just blades with overriders.

This is my first Air cooled VW; my first Volks was an 81' Jetta that I dove into the ground. I always liked these cars (Ghias) growing up and thought I'd resurrect this one. She needs a little love and a lot of attention right now. I’m going with a little different look then I usually see with these cars; something a little euro and rat-rod. I don’t plan to weld another roof on it anytime soon, since I live in LA I don’t encounter much rain. I did manage to purchase it on a day that there was rain… funny how that works.
