Shot of the dash from the drivers side. Those Deluxe 3-spoke wheels were used only during 1949 & early 1950 so they aren't too common. Interior will be finished in a cream colored leather.

A ZELENSIS made in Belgium between 58 and 62 and there are 25 body's made and designed for use on a Bug platform. My car is the last one made and was changed to fit on a type 3 pan.

My car, coming home from Bad Camberg and took a break at the home of ZELENSIS. The man is RAOUL THIEBAUT from ZELE who designed, made and sold the 25 bodys. He was delighted when he saw one off his cars again on the road.

The DKF (Der Kaefer Fahrer = the Beetle driver) club had a good turnout of vintage VWs that were driven hundreds of miles to this meet. Cars from states including Iowa, Wisconsin, New Hampshire and Maine, and Ontario Canada. Here we have a black '57 Beetle (from Toronto area), a dark blue '53 (NH), burgundy '50 (ME) and '49 Hebmueller (NH) driving along Washtenaw Ave. to get to the highway. The stone Ypsilanti water tower is in left background.
