Pulled a possibly bent beam out a bus today. Trailing arm offset was way out of spec, so it's getting a full check-up. Probably just gonna replace it with a better assembly anyway, but knowing what's wrong with this one will be nice.

This is the tab on the side of the engine compartment opening that the tab of the engine prop sets on top of, keeping the lid from dropping.

Picture of early heads used on Bus and Type 3 1500cc engines. Requires the .008 intake/.012 exhaust valve gap settings.

Note round casting under rocker studs. Later heads are square.

Comparison of original, worn out, somewhat rusty rear brake return springs (Bus up to 64) on left, and Wolfsburg West reproduction on right.
They are exact reproduction, seemingly excellent quality of material, and the price is very good--about $8 for a set of 8.
Nice.

I used the 71 later booster but the vacuum is not hooked up. The brakes work too good without it. You can see the the pushrod goes right through the original mount bracket.
