this is a 14x7 polished rim that one my friend is selling.
it is similar to a rader/randar but it is not exactly the same.

trying to figure out who manufactured this luggage rack we bought for our 1959 Standard Microbus, I believe this one is early or period correct for our Microbus as I remember seeing this in one of my old 50's vw accessorie catalogs, it has a small logo stamped into each clamp support. Any help greatly appreciated.

5 years later, the bus is still there. I decide to buy it now.
Took us a while to get it out, even with the Ranchero.
If I didin't get it out this time around, it would have rusted to death for sure... even in California.

Notice the squared off vinyl grab bars. Sold at FL Bulli Brigade with rear seat and tire cover for approx. $500. I told the buyer he got a good deal as he was loading it all up in his rental car.

This is a result of not greasing the king and link pins.
Took a couple spindles apart today, and this is pretty typical of most I have taken apart. Severely worn parts, caused by improper greasing, or lack thereof. These are some of the worst parts.

This is a result of not greasing link pins.
Moisture builds, rust sets in, the bearings cause severe grooves in the link pin, wearing out both the pin and the bearings. Rock hard grease in the link pin cap shows obvious signs of neglect. Also wears out the shims very quickly. None of this stuff is re-useable except the cap.

The lower king pin siezed/rusted to the bushing, causing very difficult steering. This surface is supposed to be finely machined, and very smooth.

Here's a pic of 5 different bus wiper arms I have. These were handy and I do have even more different ones. 2 look the same with the only difference is 1 haveing the VW logo and the other SWF logo. I did not have a 67 only handy for the pic
