These are the clips used on my 67 restored Type 1. Not sure if they are duplicates of the originals or just generic clips suitable for many different model years.

Bead blasting Type 1 dual port intake manifold

In the summer 2019 while refurbishing a stock intake manifold for my '77 Beetle's 1600 cc carburetor-based engine, I had access to a bead blaster at work. I aimed the blaster nozzle into the carb flange's down pipe as well as into the lateral pipes and rotated the nozzle so that the beads would blast all around the circumference. Although I only held the nozzle for a few seconds at each position, it was surprisingly effective at cleaning off the rust on the pipe's inner surfaces.
Then I blasted the aluminum end castings and other small parts. I finished the installation a month later.
