British & European, 12N standard 7-pole, electrical towing socket NASkeet
British & European, 12N standard 7-pole, electrical towing socket & plug, which traditionally serve all the road-vehicle lighting requirements, for a towed trailer, for which the following link shows the wiring circuit:
The following link, shows the wiring circuit, for the similar looking, British & European, 12S supplementary 7-pole, electrical towing socket & plug, which serves other electrical requirements of a towed trailer or caravan, such as battery charging, interior lighting, refrigerator, etc:
In Great Britain & European, the two pairs of matching 7-pin, 12N & 12S towing sockets & plugs, are being superceded by a single pair of matching, ISO 11446, 13-pin socket & plug, so both systems are still currently in use.

Fischer C-Box, universal, in-car audio-cassette storage drawers NASkeet
Here's a picture I found in an old 1994/95 Tandy electronics catalogue, showing the then new Fischer C-Box, universal, in-car audio-cassette storage drawer unit, which can be mounted above or below the dashboard.
A few years ago, I bought one similar to this, from one of my local charity shops.
The six drawer unit modules shown, and others of the same size, but slightly different appearance, were incorporated into custom housings, for retro-fitment into various car models, some of which I have purchased from local car breakers, to use for my own home-made, 1968~79 VW Type 2 custom housing. I have even come across inter-compatible, Fischer C-Box and BASF C-Box individual drawer unit modules, being sold separately, second-hand, at local "boot fairs".
The principal variations between these drawer-unit modules, are whether the audio cassettes fit in lengthwise or widthwise, the form & colour of drawer-release button and whether there is a coloured indicator window, to show whether a drawer closed drawer is empty or full.

Type A and Type B accessory-relay, blade-terminal configuration NASkeet
4-terminal and 5-terminal, accessory relays, are available in two blade-terminal configurations, designated A and B, which are physically interchangeable, with regard to plugging them into relay connector blocks.
However, terminals 30 and 86 are transposed, so if one is fitting a new or replacement relay, into a relay-connector block, whose latched, ¼ inch (i.e. 6·3 mm), female blade connectors, are already in place, ensure that your relay is of the correct type, A or B! Flasher relays for turn signal & emergency flasher NASkeet
Flasher relay labelled RFL 3, is the type commonly used on air-cooled VWs, from early-1970s onward.
Flasher relay labelled RFL 6, is identical in function to RFL 3, but has the additional facility, for trailer's turn-signal warning light and is what I have on my British specification, 1973 VW Type 2. View other images: From NASkeet Search Forums for photo

H4 quartz-halogen and other headlamp bulb, P45t & P43t flange fittings NASkeet
The majority of British & European specification, air-cooled VWs, upto at least the early-1980s, were equipped, with ordinary glass-enveloped, twin-filament, 45/40W headlamp bulbs, with P45t mounting flanges. The associated headlamp reflectors, incorporated a non-reflective bulb shield, to block any direct light from the bulb filament.
From as early as the mid-1970s, quartz-halogen, 60/55W, H4 bulbs, with P45t mounting flanges, have been available to substitute, into the ordinary non-H4 headlamp units, as I did in 1976, with my British specification, 1973 VW Type 2; resulting in vastly improved headlamp performance, on both main & dipped beams.
In 1989, I learned of 100/55W & 100/80W, P45t flanged H4 bulbs, of which I used the latter to further upgrade my headlamps; also upgrading the circuit with heavy-duty cable and two Hella 40A relays (one each, for main & dipped beams).
Nowadays, these P45t flanged H4 bulbs, are known to be available in 60/55W, 100/55W, 100/80W & 130/90W power ratings.
Purpose-made, H4 headlamp units, fitted with 60/55W, P43t flanged, H4 bulbs, have also been available for VW-Audi cars, since at least the mid-1970s, but I didn't wish to incur the considerable expense in 1976, when my existing lamp units, were still in excellent condition. H4 bulbs have an integral black, opaque, filament shield, so the H4 headlamp units, do not feature a bulb shield, which is redundant.
Nowadays, the P43t flanged H4 bulbs, are known to be available in 60/55W, 100/55W, 100/80W, 130/90W & 160/100W power ratings. View other images: From NASkeet Search Forums for photo

Accessory, door-mounted, external, twin-lens, rear-view mirror NASkeet
This picture scan, is an excerpt from my copy the J. C. Whitney Catalogue No. 442D, dated 1984, which was given to me nearly 23 years ago, by an American student named Eberhard Montieth, when he was studying for an M.Sc., at Cranfield Institute of Technology, in Great Britain.
The picture shows an accessory, door-mounted, external, twin-lens, rear-view mirror, of a type which bears some similarities, to those patented and manufactured, by Zanetti GmbH, in Switzerland, for vehicles such as the 1968~79 VW Type 2, 1980~92 VW Vanagon, 1975-onward VW LT, plus other marques & models.
The J. C. Whitney marketed, twin-lens mirror, plus the matching single-lens plane or convex mirrors, were said to have swivelling mirror heads, making them suitable for both left-hand and right-hand door mounting.

Cylinder-head-temperature, overheating, warning-light switch NASkeet
This picture scan, is an excerpt from my copy the J. C. Whitney Catalogue No. 442D, dated 1984, which was given to me nearly 23 years ago, by an American student named Eberhard Montieth, when he was studying for an M.Sc., at Cranfield Institute of Technology, in Great Britain.
It show some sort of kit (stock No. 74–7362Y) and separate cylinder-head-temperature, overheating, warning-light switch (stock No. 74–7259W), which if effective in early detection of air-cooled engine overheating, would be quite a useful accessory; complementing a cylinder-head temperature gauge.
I wonder if this product was effective, and if so, whether it is still available, either new or second-hand? View other images: From NASkeet Search Forums for photo
