VW Type 1 Beetle, multi-valve, air & water-cooled, flat-4 engine NASkeet
The above picture, originally shown in the following magazine article, shows the VW Type 1 Beetle, 2·0 litre, circa 550 bhp, multi-valve, air & water-cooled, flat-4 engine, developed by Autocavan, in England, for Peter Harrod's four-wheel-drive, Beetle rallycross car.
Steve Bennett, "Beetle 16-Valve!", Communique: News in View, Cars & Car Conversions, March 1992, page 24.
The article refers to the development of a 16-valve cylinder head, but later describes it as being probably the World's first 16-valve, quad-cam, turbocharged, fuel-injected, water & air-cooled Beetle engine, so it's not clear whether there are four or eight valves per cylinder. Small, light weight, teardrop trailer. P-Dub
Does anyone know the manufacturer of this trailer? I have spoken to the owner of this trailer a number of times. The title says it was first regestered in the early '60s. The rear opens up a sink, ice box & cooking area. A side door enters into a full sizes bed with a small storage cabinet. No mfg. is noted on the title or known by the owner. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! View other images: From P-Dub Search Forums for photo
