On November 11th, 2020 in Seattle's Beacon Hill neighborhood, someone decided that they needed my 1964 VW camper bus more than me. I drove my wife to work at about 6:30 AM, came home at 7:20 and found my bus gone. If anyone sees it, or finds parts of it for sale, please contact me. It's been part of our family for 34 years and I really miss having it.

It is maroon and cream colored, there are two dents in the driver's side rear about halfway up on the edge, the driver's sliding window is plexiglas, the driver's door bottom hinge needs to be welded back together and doesn't open fully. It has some rust at the rocker panels, and also at the rear where the battery sits. It needed a wash to scrub off some lichens. It has brand new tires.

Help if you can, we miss our camper.

this van sat in the back of my shop for 15 years, sold the shop, loaded it up with lotsa my goodies, came back in the morning to move it out, and the new owner says he has no idea what happened to it, it was in a locked warehouse, suspect it is in the area, probably richmond calif.

It has a brown interior and dual quiet-pack extractor exhaust. Other than that relatively stock. The paint is hazy tan with slight mossy edges. Very distinct. Car is in running condition. Dash has aftermarket gauges under radio portion.

… this treasure chest door came offa' my '60 single cab in 1996 - finally found a better one and switched them - Some poor-soul went into my shop last night and stole this old one - along with the entire front seat outta' the SC truck - put a bay bucket seat on and it'll work, for now.
i'm just missing this ratty old treasure chest door...
… is sad that this poor guy, Louie - the thief, could not come up with a better way of obtaining something, he wanted. He has my sympathy - i'll pray that the Buddha forgives him for his wrongfulness...

… MORE STUFF MISSING -
… a couppla' months ago, there was a guy, who came to my house to buy bus parts. His name was Louie from Silom Springs, Arkansas. He had a pickup AND TYPE 2, that needed major repair. He asked to buy my spare front doors, my set of Denman tires, said did not want my treasure chest door and wanted other things, I did not want to sell. He did buy a rear part of a frame - the trans cradle and other major parts and a Bandi toy bus

Louie called me, about 3 or 4 weeks ago and asked if I still had all those parts and the Denman tires - that he was on the road, outta' town and would call me on the up coming weekend to come and get everything... but he never called. He has been in my thoughts, since, because he made a point to call about everything, I initially, did not want to sell and listed those items.

Other parts are missing - the set of wide white Denman tires and tubes, the primed gray right bus door - gave a guy a SWR door 4 this primer one to match his bus

Beware of a Louie, AKA Aaron, from Silom Springs, Arkansas, needing bus parts - not an honest guy.
UPDATE 6/14/19 - 2 bus engine lids missing too. One bay and one splitty. The splitty one was red, with the hinge mounting holes rusted away, on top, to be seen as just a rectangular hole -

Bless poor Louie for lack of honorable judgment - I forgive you, Louie - obviously, you need professional help, man.,.

My '74 VW Super Beetle convertible was stolen back in 1998 near Ann Arbor, MI, and I've not seen or heard anything about it since. I lost the VIN # for most of that time, and have just recently rediscovered my 1997 MI registration. The VIN is 1142012385. The online VIN search tools don't go back that far. I know this is a crazy longshot, but how do I reach out to DMVs and computer systems that might have some record of it?

In the last few months I've had many parts stolen from multiple locations in northwest arkansas.
Here's a list
Full set of oval window fenders w decklid fender skirts icepick doors, front hood all freshly painted black. These parts are to the oval pictured.
And the latest dove blue icepick front bus doors doorswith glass and a deluxe front bumper. Maybe more to come when I figure out what all is gone. I hope to see these at the Eureka vw show. There will be hell to pay! With law involved.. After I get some payback out of your hide.

I need you help locating my 90 Carat (Plate # ADU 9448) which was stolen from out in front of our house on the corner of 62nd and 3rd ave NW (Seattle) sometime saturday night-Sunday morning. We have had this Van for 13 yrs and it has a lot of time and sentimental value into it as well as raised our 2 girls in this van by getting out on countless trips in the PNW.
If you see or come across this Van please contact me and then contact the local police immediately. A report has been filed, but I am offering a award for information that leads to us getting it back.
Considering the color, wheels and build it should stand out I am hoping it turns up quickly.

Considering the color, wheels and build it should stand out I am hoping it turns up quickly.

Hi, I'm new to TheSamba. I bought a Doka for the classifieds on the Samba and when I went to pick it up after flying from Utah to Maryland then driving 10 1/2 hours one way, it was gone. I know it sounds like BS. I figure the best place to look for it is on this forum. I bought it from Rob in Ontario Canada. The VIN is WV2VB0242FH026076 It's a white 85 Doka. Apparently it was his tenant who took it. He also tried to steal his syncro single cab. If anyone has seen it, let me know. I'm not too savy on posting, the pic is in the stolen vw section. Thank you
