The valve cover, exhaust manifold, oil dipstick, and injection pump are different on the Volvo D24TIC ACL motor compared to the VW D24 ACL. I’m sure there are a ton other differences.
These pictures are of the vw manufactured d2.4 turbo intercooler motor that came from the vw factory in my LT. Or what is left of it.

Note the three dots on the head gasket that is sticking out. These dots are near number two glow plug and designate the thickness of the metallic gasket. Use this count to order your replacement.
