NKATHA BAY MALAWI afgwt
We drove from Johannesburg, through nMozambique, Malawi and then into Tanzania final Destination Dar Es Salaam. We just kitted out the Syncro. It has a 6 centimeter lift, we run on M/S tyres nothing expensive because when you blow a tire here may as well be cheap and the expensive ones blow just as well, it has a 2 liter Golf (short block - unfortunately). We were LOADED, books and materials, tents, luggage, 4 people. The Syncro ran like a dream. We did 28000 Kilometers with some problems, that could have been avoided had we done the full set-up. On-board compressor. Really, everything we have may be cool but here it's required equipment. Anyway, here are some pictures of AFRICA and the best 4X4 ever made for this part of the world - bar none! View other images: From afgwt Search Forums for photo

NKATHA BAY MALAWI afgwt
Found this camp on the GPS. This is in Tanzania. First night there. No facilities. A river with rapids about 50 feet away so no mosquitoes. No electricity but we had the inverter and cooked on the fire. Brilliant night sky! No phone signal - realized we need a sat phone next time! Absolute magic this place! DAR ES SALAAM FERRY afgwt
We had already pitched camp so the roof rack was empty. Dar is not a place to go when in Tanzania. But we found a place there that has Syncro parts, repairs them, has used parts, owns one himself and has about 8 or more in storage of customers. Yup! Syncros are Everywhere and when you get to a place like this Everywhere takes on a whole new meaning! View other images: From afgwt Search Forums for photo

NKATHA BAY MALAWI afgwt
This was our view from camp for 6 weeks at $6.00 a night - no kidding! Food a little expensive and you have to go quite far to get it through traffic - no anarchy - to get there. But the people are tremendously friendly, very nice people. View other images: From afgwt Search Forums for photo
